Quicken Home and Business, for example, is perfect for managing your personal finances and small business.  It allows you to create vendor lists, invoices, bills and estimates.  Invoices can be emailed to clients.  And it tracks everything, so that you can tell the status of business finances with a single click. 

 

This comprehensive solution also gives you everything you need when it comes to tax time, and Quicken files can be automatically loaded into TurboTax. 

 

We have used QuickBooks in the past, but you really need a strong background in accounting to be successful with that package.  In our estimation, QuickBooks is an overkill for most start-ups and small businesses, often requiring outside training and assistance.

 

We use Quicken Home and Business ourselves and strongly recommend Quicken to anyone with a small business or contemplating launching their own business!
